Traditions Montessori Elementary program is for 6 to 12 year olds and is taught by three certified Montessori Elementary educators. The children are organized into Lower and Upper Elementary groups and spend time building community with one another. The core curriculum in the elementary program consists of Language, Mathematics, Science, Geography, and History. Our Montessori classroom brings children of different age levels together, allowing them to progress at their own pace. Elementary-aged children continue to learn through the use of concrete materials as they move gradually toward increasingly abstract thinking. This builds a strong foundation for our students. The lessons and materials are multi-sensory, dramatic, and impressionistic, serving to ignite the imagination and curiosity of our students. Our well-rounded curriculum includes classes in Spanish, art, music, library, gardening, and physical education.
Our elementary students participate in an annual private school UIL competition. In addition, our students take pride in local, national, and global philanthropy work. They work with partners, such as the Cameron Park Zoo, to help solve issues and become good citizens, while learning the importance of giving back.
